Good table of contents, but that's all.

I don't like to knock documentation for open source software because there's often not enough of it. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything in this book that you can't find easily on-line. Maybe that's all you need though, in which case maybe this is a useful resources. But the first time I needed to test the book, to find out how to put a timeout on the Common's FTP client, I found the book went no further than very basic use of the Commons components.

I say the table of contents is good, because it gives you an idea of what Commons can do. For anything further, look elsewhere.
